Tumors originating from lacrimal gland are rare.Wepresent a case of a 40 year old patient with pleomorphic adenoma of ectopiclacrimal gland in the left orbit. This large sized tumor was situated deepinside the orbit and compressed the globe and the optic nerve. Patient as aresult presented with proptosis and diminshed vision of the left eye (reducedto just perception of light).A total excision of the tumor was accomplished bymeans of a transcranial approach. Patient recovered well with a goodimprovement in the visual acuity. A review of the clinical features, radiologicfindings, treatment and histopathology is made.
