The use of literature is informative and instructive. Sangam songs became classical as they spoke of land and time. The novel 'Sancharam' was taken up for study in a way that exposes the nature biographical jurisprudence based on the tiṇaikkōṭpāṭṭu theories prioritized by the Sangam literature. The novel highlights the status of the traditional art of music of the South in the Karisal area and the position of the arts in relation to the fertility of the soil.
