The article substantiates the need to prevent the manifestations of nihilism in the behaviour of high school pupils. The results of the analysis of the phenomenon and the concept of "nihilism" in the scientific literature are presented. The phrase "legal nihilism" is characterised. A comparison of the categories of prevention, prevention and overcoming is given. The authors substantiate a structurally meaningful model of preventing and overcoming manifestations of legal nihilism among high school pupils, and describe its components and stages of implementation. The results of experimental work at secondary schools of the City of Kostroma and Krasnoselsky district of Kostroma Region are discussed.
