Un poeta de las «causas perdidas»

El sujeto de la última poesía de Vallejo termina siendo, sobre todo, un sujeto de la voluntad. Si bien sus versos siempre se propusieron representar la condición frágil de la subjetividad humana y si bien nunca tuvieron reparos en reconocer cómo la subjetividad suele evadir la urgencia de tomar decisiones, vale decir, cómo el sujeto se acobarda ante el Acontecimiento (¡cómo quedamos de tan quedarnos!, dice un famoso verso), lo cierto es que esta es una poesía que también constata que en la humanidad hay un conjunto inédito de posibilidades políticas, una fuerza que invita a superar los límites de nuestras determinaciones vitales y sociales. En sus últimos poemas, Vallejo se propuso celebrar a un conjunto de sujetos que defendieron la «idea comunista» hasta las últimas consecuencias. La idea es la siguiente: un sujeto solo se vuelve un sujeto (un hombre humano, en sus palabras) cuando ha optado por ser fiel a una verdad y cuando esa decisión lo transforma por completo en un militante. Será objetivo de esta ponencia observar, en determinados poemas, la emergencia de ese sujeto que interrumpe la repetición hegemónica, que afirma una verdad que excede a la ley conocida y que nunca se rinde a pesar de la derrota y de las «causas perdidas». ABSTRACTThe subject of the last poem of Vallejo ends up being, above all, a subject of will. Although his verses were always proposed to represent the fragile condition of the human subjectivity - and even though they never had qualms about recognizing how subjectivity often evades the urgency of making decisions - that is, how the subject quails to the event («¡cómo quedamos de tan quedarnos!» - ‘How we remain, from so we remaining ourselves!’ says a famous verse). The truth is that this poem noted that humanity is a set of political possibilities, a force that invites you to go beyond the limits of vital and social determination. In his last poems, Vallejo agrees with a group of subjects who defended the «Communist idea» until ultimate consequences. The idea is the following: a single subject becomes a subject (a «human», in his words) when choosing to be loyal to the truth and when that decision transforms him fully into a militant. This paper states that in certain poems the emergence of that subject interrupts hegemonic repetition, declares the truth which exceeds the known law and never surrenders, despite defeat and «lost causes».
