In the article, the influence of the Constitution of the Russian Federation on constitutional law and constitutional law studies is examined. Also, the impact of constitutional law studies on the Constitution through popularization of its signifi-cance, authoritativeness, and the legal potential is emphasized. A brief historical analysis of development of interrelation between basic law of a state and constitu-tional law studies is given. The author agrees with the point of view that constitu-tional law is a leading branch of a national legal system, yet warns on extrapolation of this position on constitutional law studies developed on an equal basis with other legal studies. Some aspects of constitutionalization of social relations and expansion of the subject of constitutional law regulation are discussed as well. At the same time, the author points out that even the Russian Constitutional Court ignores constitutionalization in some cases. It occasionally refuses to take into consideration the constitutional interests of significant parts of the population.
