The fi rst university programme in Polish studies in China was launchedalready in the 1950s. The foundations laid by a few generations of specialists inPolish studies from Beijing Foreign Studies University permit the developmentof successive programmes in Polish studies in other Chinese academic centres.They use the support of the PRC government, which has been implementinga dynamic foreign policy addressed to the Central and Eastern European countriesfor a few years now. One of the new centres offering innovative programmes inPolish studies, which are combined with the economic and international path,is the Sichuan University in Chengdu, supported by the University of Warsaw.This paper describes the formation of the Polish+ programme in Chengdu andpresents the details related to the curriculum of the studies, which inspiresother Chinese higher education institutions to introduce similar specialties incooperation with the greatest Polish higher education institutions.
