Breif BackgroundPatients undergoing clinical procedures are concerned about pain and increased levels of anxiety.Objective:The objective of this review was to critically appraise, synthesise and present the best available evidence related to the effectiveness of music interventions on anxiety in clinical procedures.Data sources:A detailed search was undertaken on major electronic databases. The search was restricted to English language.Material and methods:Systematic review, Meta analysis, randomised controlled trials and experimental studies were included in the review. Summary and conclusions:This narrative review concluded that there was enough evidence to suggest that patients benefited from a procedural music-listening programme.
