Osteomyelitis is an infectious disease which is characterized by the inflammation of bone and bone marrow. In the maxillofacial region, maxilla is rarely affected due to its rich vascular supply and unique framework of the bone. The causative factors are the bacterial and fungal infections. The risk factors which increase the patient’s susceptibility to osteomyelitis are chronic use of steroids, uncontrolled diabetes and atherosclerosis. Here, we present, a rare case of osteomyelitis involving the maxilla in a 61 year old, female diabetic patient. Key Words: Maxilla, Osteomyelitis, Diabetes mellitus
