The article discusses the events associated with the Anschluss of Austria (1938). Interest in this topic is due to the fact that the Anschluss was one of the key events that changed the balance of power in Europe in the mid-1930s in the direction of strengthening the expansionist policy of Germany, aimed at inciting the Second World War. The article describes the consequences of the Anschluss for Austria, Germany and, in general, for peace and security in Europe.
