The article deals with the problems of generation and accumulation of waste in the mining industries and in the industries engaged in the processing of its products. These areas of activity are the main source of waste generation in Russia. The authors calculated direct and total coefficients of waste generation in the mining industries, allowing to assess the load on the environment.
