The inverse dynamic problem of seismic consists in recovering the velocity model of elastic medium based on the observed seismic data. In this work it is proposed to use the Wasserstein metric since its use reduces the number of local extremes of the target functional in comparison with the L2-norm.This work also presents and discusses the results of numerical experiments including a comparative analysis of the velocity models recovered using the Wasserstein metric and L2-norm.
