The article is devoted to the substantiation of the programs of mapping and space monitoring of natural and anthropogenic processes and phenomena. The goals, objectives, composition and structure of the monitoring system are stated. The methodological and technological features of its organization are considered. The results of the practical implementation of the developed programs are briefly reviewed on the example of the Baikal Region. Prospects for the further development of the monitoring system of natural and anthropogenic processes and phenomena are outlined.
