The paper deals with tasks and features of using the project-based method in the educational process at the university in general as well as in the frameworks of teaching foreign languages. The author points out advantages of this method and certain challenges that a teacher may face while implementing it. Some practical variants of using the project-based method are also analyzed in application to teaching foreign languages.
