The paper wants to show some specific documents and more problems connected with personnel files created by private societies or by public administration and the reflections that archivists should do in order to manage the full usability of the papers related to people as workers, clerks, soldiers, police officers and so on. The archivist has to manage the problems connected with a double need: from one side the full access to the files from another side it is very important to evaluate carefully the privacy problems connected with specifically the Italian laws Codice dei beni culturali e del paesaggio and Codice in materia di protezione di dati personali. Again, the military files have different papers and different appraisal with the final results to risk to lose a very important part of the life of the masculine majority of the Italian society till the suspension of the national service.
