This paper presents the results of a comparative analysis of behavioural indicators in rats with modelled genetic dopamine transporter (DAT) deciency. Two groups of laboratory animals — heterozygous DAT knockout rats (DAT-HET) and Wistar rats — underwent the “Open eld”, “Elevated plus maze” and “Extrapolation deliverance” tests. It is established that DAT-HET rats are characterized by an increased locomotor and research activity along with reduced anxiety and cognitive impairment compared to Wistar rats used as control.
