Optical Character Recognition is basicallythe mechanical or electronic conversion of printed orhandwritten text into machine understandable text. Thecomplication of Optical Character Recognition indifferent conditions remains as relevant as it was in thepast few years. At the present time of automation andinnovations, Keyboarding remains the most commonway of inputting or feeding data into computers. This isprobably the most time consuming and labor-intensiveoperation in the industry. Automating the process ofrecognition of documents, credit cards, electronicinvoices, and license plates of cars – all of this could helpin saving time for analyzing and processing data. Withthe increased research and development of machinelearning, the quality of text recognition is continuouslygrowing better. Our paper is focused on providing abrief explanation of the different stages involved in theprocess of optical character recognition and through theproposed application; we aim to automate the process ofextraction of important texts from electronic invoices. The main goal of the project is to develop a real timeOCR web application with a micro service architecture, which would help in extracting necessary informationfrom an invoice.
