After facing many difficulties scientists in this21st century have finally been able to use these cells fortreating diseases of various types making stem cells ahousehold name in the field of medical sciences. Thoughthe prospective of stem cells began with treating cancerand focusing on it’s research, now it's application hasspread to various topics like organ regeneration, bonemarrow transplant, leukaemia, stroke treatment amongothers. This paper is a review focused on the discovery ofdifferent types of stem cells and the potential aspects basedon these cells. The review is summarized by challenges thatstem cell therapy must overcome to be accepted in allmedical facilities. A wide variety of possibilities makes thiscutting edge therapy a turning point in modern medicine, providing hope for untreatable diseases.
