The protagonist of The AlchemistSantiago longs to travel to fulfill his dreams andlikes to be liberated from his status quo of life inessence. He thinks that one can discover the newdimension of life by travelling into the farawayland; this also shows the archetype of nomadicinstinct of human beings, for they have alwaystravelled from one place to another in search ofprosperity and fulfillment. He desires somethingnew so that he can come out of the conventionalpattern of life in general. For him travelling to theunknown brings freedom, wealth andemancipation in life. So he chooses to travel andkeeps dreaming.
