In a world exhausting our naturalresources, green building has become the ethical“in-thing” in an attempt to save our planet fromdespair. The bitter experience of global warminghas alarmed and compelled the mankind tochange the way they operate on earth. Within theconstruction industry, the green building conceptevolved and it now gaining momentum rapidlyacross the world. Green building involves abuilding which incorporates environmentalconsideration into every stage of the buildingconstruction with the objectives to protectoccupant health, improve employee productivity, use wisely natural resources and reduce theenvironmental impact. The use of sustainableresources in the construction industry should beenforced by the local construction regulations inorder to save the environment. The study findingsrevealed that the green buildings provide betterhealth for buildings occupants due to theimproved indoor quality, development of moreenergy efficient products and the use of lessnatural resources for the satisfaction and welfareof building tenants, also to protect the ecosystem. The outcome of this research shows that greenbuilding benefits should encourage clients, consultants and invest in green buildings. Theresearchers in this paper talks about therequirement of green building constructions inIndia, and tries to find out the drivers whichcreate a demand for purchase of green buildings.
