The main objective of this paper is to findout the boiler efficiency calculation and method toimprovement. The thermal industry is known as amajor source of conventional energy in India. In thethermal power plant where chemical energy of thecoal is converted into electricity. It is mostdemanding industry now days because of highenergy demand. Boiler is the most important partfor plant. Running the plant with maximum resultwe need high boiler efficiency. Calculating boilerefficiency as one of the most important types ofperformance measurement in any power plant. Forcalculation of Boiler efficiency basically we useDirect and Indirect method. It is a measure of howeffectively chemical energy in fuel is converted intoheat energy in steam going to the turbine. Findingboiler efficiency from this method from this methoduse for boiler efficiency, the data is collected fromdifferent department in plant like, Boiler EfficiencyDepartment. Many researchers are find out theboiler efficiency of different plant and carried outtheir research for improvement of boiler efficiency.This review paper helpful to calculate the boilerefficiency and find out the different types of lossesoccurs in boiler. We also find that boiler efficiency isalways somehow increase by implementing thismethod and useful for further research.
