Generally, there is no building construction withzero cracks. It’s a very common and unavoidable problemin any concrete construction structure. Cracks affectstructural safety as well as the beautiful and artisticappearance of any construction. Everyone wishes theirconstruction or building to be crack free, but it is not aneasy task or almost impossible. Various types of cracksstart to appear on the non-structural and structural partof any construction. These cracks are the result of someunwanted or faulty steps taken during construction.Sometimes, cracks can be a serious concern about thesafety of any construction. Cracks do not risk the safetydirectly, but they encourage some acts which cause majorsafety problems. Therefore, it is very important to detectcracks before they create any serious safety issue and takepreventive measures. However, cracks cannot becompletely prevented, but can be controlled by usingadequate materials and techniques. The present paperanalyses reasons of cracks formation and provides sometechniques and measures that can prevent cracks and related issues.
