In recent years, there has been massiveprogress in Artificial Intelligence (AI) with thedevelopment of machine learning, deep neural networks, natural language processing, computer vision and robotics. These techniques are now actively being applied in thejudiciary with many of the legal service activities currentlybeing delivered by lawyers predicted to be taken over byAI in the coming years. This paper explores the potentialsand efficiency of Artificial intelligence (AI) in justicedelivery. The paper has two objectives: first to highlightthe main applications of AI in justice administrationsthrough some examples of AI tools recently developed;second, to assess the ethical challenges of AI in thejudiciary. Artificial Intelligence algorithms are starting tosupport lawyers, for instance, through artificialintelligence search tools, or to support justiceadministrations with predictive technologies and businessanalytics based on the computation of Big Data. Using theconcept of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Legal knowledgebased tools may accelerate the service delivery of legalprofessionals from typical searching of related casejournals to extraction of precise information in acustomized manner.
