Coconut is one of the important ingredients in Indian household. It is widely used for cooking and also for the extraction of coconut oil. Though coconut is used widely in all parts of India, dehusking of coconut is not an easy task. Husk in botany is the outer shell or coating of a seed. It often may refer to the leafy outer covering of a coconut. Literally, a husk or hull includes the protective outer covering of a seed, fruit or vegetable. The dehusking machine is capable of removing husk from the coconut in an easy way and also time consumption is very less when compared to manual process. The model consists of a motor, gear arrangement, rollers with spikes, and a pressing plate. KeywordsHusk, motor, rollers, Gears.
