This paper deals with the uses and applications of the Ubuntu operating system. This work is divided into two parts. The first part is about introducing which will be presented what is the computing system, operating system, kernel, UNIX, GNU/Linux, the advantages and disadvantages of GNU/Linux, the shell, the terminal, distribution, GNU/Linux desktop environment and the GNU/Linux file system and some introductory things about the Ubuntu operating system. The second part concerns only the Ubuntu operating system for the Ubuntu Desktop version. In particular, you first learn how to download and install it. The following are the desktop, its programs and applications and network connections. Also refer to hardware and software.
