Electronic social networks are powerful means of communication for million registered users, because some social groups are gaining considerable popularity among pupils of secondary schools. The author believes that the use of electronic social networks is actual not just for training purposes, but also to implement the social and educational work in the school environment. In publication there have been reviewed electronic social networks, including business networks, comparison of their properties. The properties of electronic social networks, as well as the basic functions of social and educational work in secondary schools are described. The possibilities and ways of using of electronic social networks for social and educational work with pupils are determined.
