This research was done to know the information about the Population of softshell turtle (A.cartilaginea) in Sababangunan Village-North of Padang Lawas District. The purpose of this study was to find out the growth pattern and the quality of physical-chemical water factor (environment parameters) whos showed river condition supporting life of A.cartilaginea in Sababangunan village-Padang Lawas Utara District. Determination of research location conducted by purposive sampling methode and sampling activity taken by using handsortir method. The analysis of data collect include measurement of morphometric (the range of length carapace, weight of body), the relationship of length-weight , growth pattern, and description of quality of physical-chemical water factor. Results showed the measurements of morphometric A.cartilaginea in range of carapace length were 10.5 - 28.5 cm with the weight of body were 190-1800 gr. The relationship models of carapace length-weights of A.cartilaginea in Sababangunan village were 0,016L2,234174, it’s describe the pattern of growth is allometric negative (b<3). The average value of river water quality conditions is still classified as within the range of tolerance in A.cartilaginea life.
