Estudio del territorio de la vocación turística Caso del barrio El Vado-Cuenca-Ecuador

La investigación propone un análisis de la vocación turística, a través de las características físicas y socioculturales que tiene un territorio para la realización de actividades relacionadas al turismo sean de ocio o recreación. El estudio se centra en el tradicional barrio “El Vado” de la ciudad de Cuenca, Ecuador, para diagnosticar si es apto para desarrollar la actividad turística, tanto desde la perspectiva de la sociedad como de capacidad instalada con la que cuenta. Para el análisis se realizó el levantamiento de información secundaria, en el cual se identificaron los principales problemas y potencialidades del sector, por medio de entrevistas se conocieron las opiniones de los actores sociales, donde se identificaron las fortalezas que tienen el territorio y sus habitantes. Además, se aplicó la matriz metodológica propuesta por López, Gómez, Sepúlveda & Ochoa (2017), debido a que la herramienta analiza el criterio de los habitantes. Obteniendo como resultado que el territorio si cuenta con vocación turística y se procedió a definir líneas estratégicas enfocadas a el desarrollo del territorio. AbstractTourist vocation is the physical and social cultural characteristics which a territory has, for the realization of activities related to tourism. In order to establish if a place like “El Vado” is adequate for tourism, research must be done on both the inhabitants of the area as well as their perspective on the matter. Three main difculties have arisen from this: the loss of identity, the reduction of traditional productive activities, and social problemsthat have led to a perception of insecurity among the residents of the surrounding neighborhoods. It is  ssential to carry out an analysis of the territory to propose improvement strategies that is why this analysis has been carried out. Research is verifable because it is based on analysis and survey of secondary information, in which the main problems and potential of the sector were identifed. Furthermore, we applied the  ethodological matrix for the measurement and assessment of the tourist vocation within a city. The majority of the criteria obtained the highest results, determining that the area has potential for a tourist vocation. Finally, the population proved to be open and suitable for the implementation of this activity enabled proposing strategic routes focused on the development of the area.
