The objective of this research is to analyse the benefit of adaptation Malaysia Tamil novel into the film. For this study, ascertain the modifications made when certain works are converted into other media, and to investigate how fair the literary values are adapted. In discussing adaptations, despite efforts to develop the Tamil film industry in Malaysia, no progress has been made in like the West and India. Also, film adaptations have not yet been used as literary sources in Tamil films in Malaysia. However, the Malaysian Malay film industry is adapting Malay novels to film, following in the footsteps of Western countries. However, there is no beginning to the development of the phenomenon of local Tamil novel adaptations in Malaysian Tamil films. The purpose of this idea is to find the attention of the reader or audience about the novels in the written form of the script by the technical development like film. Finally, this study also indicates that literature and film are two different art mediums, and at the same time have some similarities. They are no doubt that with a proper adaptation process, a good novel can be adapted into an excellent quality film. Hopefully, this would enhance the progress of high appreciation of serious literature and quality film among readers and viewers in Malaysia.
