The article is devoted to the urgent problem of managing the formation of socio-informational competence of future journalists. The experimental part of the study is presented in the conditions of higher educational institutions in Iraq. Management issues in the article are considered from the angle of defining and implementing diagnostic measures for the formation of socio-informational competence of specialists in the journalistic industry. The essence of the basic concepts on the definition of diagnostic tools according to the conditions of the study: the criterion, parameter and level. It is noted that the socio-informational competence of specialists in general and journalists in particular is among the least studied. An attempt is made to solve the problem of determining the criteria for the formation of this competency, taking into account the characteristics of both information and social competencies, such as those that are related to it to a certain extent. It is shown that the results obtained make it possible to find out the state of formation of the socio-informational competence of future journalists at the «exit» of the educational system. Based on the results of the study, it was decided to conduct tactical management of the educational process by adjusting the technology model for the formation of socio-informational competence of future journalists on the basis of a dynamic pedagogical site.
