The availability of a huge number of tools, methods and techniques for the treatment of generalized periodontitis is not always effective in clinical practice, especially during a pandemic over COVID-19. The use of high-tech innovative techniques, including photodynamotherapy with HELBO Thera Lite laser can be a particularly promising area as an adjunct to the comprehensive treatment of generalized periodontitis. The technique is characterized by a decent arsenal of advantages over competitors on the market – is 92 % effective against typical periodontal pathogens, minimally invasive, does not require additional use of pharmaceuticals, including antibiotics, does not cause and is not accompanied by excessive psychological stress, has no side effects on others organs and systems. The relevance of its use in dental practice can significantly improve traditional methods of comprehensive treatment of generalized periodontitis, especially in patients after coronavirus infection, which further requires scientifically proved confirmation by studying the features of clinical, microbiological, biochemical and immunological parameters.
