This article presents an approach to modelling segregation effects using a sectoral bounded-neighbourhood model. The proposed simulation model provides an opportunity to study the evolutionary dynamics of a population consisting of local and external agents that interact in a two-dimensional discrete space. It is shown that in the conditions of an uniform-mixing method of creating jobs in all sectors of economy: extraction, processing, retail and high-tech services, attracting the appropriate groups of agents, differing in the level of education and qualifications, the lowest level of population segregation is ensured. At the same time, in the long term, such a strategy leads to appearing of the phenomenon of the formation of a "mono-ethnic community", consisting mainly of local (including previously assimilated) agents.
