The current state of the territorial-sectoral division of labor in dairy cattle breeding is analyzed. Based on the assessment of technological factors and regional characteristics of production, the conditions for increasing the efficiency of the development of the industry are established. The experience of the Republic of Mordovia in intensifying dairy cattle breeding and increasing the volume of dairy production is considered. Based on the analysis carried out, proposals were made to improve the territorial and sectoral division of labor and take into account regional features of production specialization in the selection of investment projects for concessional lending and subsidizing.
