Adriansyah et al, 2018. Polymorphism Analysis of Local Varieties of South Sumatra Rice Based on PCR-RAPD. JLSO 7(1):The existence of rice germplasm is threatened because of the introduction of various high-yielding varieties. This study aimedto describe variation in local varieties of South Sumatra rice using RAPD. Rice DNA was isolated using the Promega Wizard Purification Systems KIT. Primers used in the study was OPA-9, OPA-10, OPA-13, and OPA-16. All primers could amplify DNA with optimal quality. Each primer produced different number of DNA bands in which 5, 9, 12 and 9 DNA bands were produced by OPA-9, OPA-10, OPA-13, and OPA-16 primer, respectively.
