Ovarian cancer is the leading cause of death from gynecologicmalignancies. This article reviews the newer chemotherapeutic agents andtreatment strategies available to the practicing clinician. Also discussedare the benefits and shortfalls of the various options for screening, suchas ultrasound and tumor markers, as well as the data supporting oralcontraceptives and the controversy surrounding prophylacticoophorectomy.
