Letter writing is more democratic in its nature as compared to other genres of literature. The readers can observe the shadows of the personality of the writer in his letters. That is the reason why letters enjoy keen importance in understanding an individual thoroughly. In this research paper, the researcher has shed light on the definition and literary importance of letters in prose. The researcher has given a detail definition of literary letters and explained that they are capable to be called a genre of Urdu prose.
