The prescribing of Opioids for the treatment of pain has been amainstay of practice for hundreds of years. More recently, since the1990s, nonmedical use of opioid medication has been recognizedand has been deemed problematic contributing to the current OpioidEpidemic the US faces and grapples with today. Opioid prescribinghas increased more than four fold since the 1900s [1].
