According to a recent editorial in Lancet journal “Type 2 diabetes isbecoming the plague of the 21st century” and “threatens to reducelife expectancy for future generations globally”. Diabetes is aglobal public health crisis which was fueled by rapid urbanization,nutrition transition, and increasingly sedentary lifestyles.I think everybody agrees with me on the magnitude of this worldwide epidemic of diabetes which is invading almost every countryin the world and spreading among adults & pregnant women. Thegreat magnitude of type 2 diabetes is not restricted to adults butinvolve children. This implies on us to handle this crisis throughmultiple approaches rather than concentrating on one aspect ofmanagement.Let me summaries my suggested different approaches which wehave to address in dealing with diabetes mellitus crisis as follows:
