Aroma, flavors and fragrances are due to extrinsic and intrinsic factors, reveals the real-time status of the object. There are attempts to develop the mimic of biological noses or advance forms by the scientists time to time. A few devices developed are more advanced than biological system but specific to certain trait only. The specificity of these devices is quite helpful in agriculture, biomedical, cosmetics, environmental, food, defense and research activities than biological noses. The electronic nose is a cheap and easy technique to decipher the shelf-life of various products in markets, even to detect the hazardous or poisonous gas where biological sniffer is not possible. Generally, it is a three-component device namely sample delivery, detecting and computing system. Currently, multi-tech devices are in-use to identify individual components of a gas mixture by a merger with conventional analytical instruments. For better sensitivity and resolution still, there is a look at the artificial system with similar or better performance than biological noses in different environmental conditions.
