Knowledge management is the main focus of discussion academics (researchers) and is used by practitioners to improve performance. The rapid development of the business world has an impact on the demands of research development, tacit knowledge is forced to be made explicit in order to meet market needs. Knowledge shifts from academia to the market (practical), the success of knowledge is measured by its performance. Design / methodology / approach - Following a mixed methods approach, the authors review relevant literature at the intersection of knowledge management, tacit knowledge, explicit knowledge and performance.
