The paper addresses impact of application of intermediation and productionapproaches on the technical efficiency of banks measurement result. Placement ofdeposits in both models and the lack of clear decisions as to the nature of banksare important issues. The analysis shows that the level of technical-efficiency estimatedfor the analyzed banks, taking into account production approach, is lowerthan the level of technical efficiency for the intermediation approach.
