The article reports the discovery of two small fragments of the Ci nous dit, a 14th-century French book of exempla, located in the binding of a manuscript of the Real Biblioteca de San Lorenzo de El Escorial. This allows us to assume that this collection of stories and anecdotes circulated in Castile in the Middle Ages. In addition, an evidence of its use is adduced by Pedro López de Ayala, San Vicente Ferrer and, perhaps, don Juan Manuel. Keywords: Ci nous dit, Parchment Pieces, Medieval French Exemplary Literature, Reception in Medieval Castile.
