The increasing number of unmanned aerial vehicle poses new \udchallenges in the \udaviation industry especially the air traffic control, which \udis responsible for the \udsafe flight operations in the controlled airspaces. In order \udto protect the \udconventional aircraft a new operation environment has to be \udcreated, which \udguarantee the safe flying and the possibility of the \udfulfilment of the flight. In \udthe article drone related safety and operational problems are \udhighlighted. All \udissue connected to the coexistence of manned and unmanned \udaircrafts are critical, \udthus their management have significant importance.\udSpread and wide use of unmanned aerial vehicle traffic \udmanagement systems (UTM) can \udmanage the critical operational issues, but is has to be \uddefined that what is the \udproblem, what is the scope, what is the operational \udenvironment. Services and \udfunctions related to the operation of the UTM system are \uddefined, which are \udnecessary for the safe flying fulfilled by the unmanned \udvehicles
