This paper discusses the story of Ka'ab ibn Malik; one of the three Companions who did not participate in the Battle of Tabuk. In the first place, the biography of this great Companion is presented based on the verses from the Quran and hadiths of the Prophet SAW. This is followed by the educational values that could be derived from this incident. These include the values of truthfulness, social participation, admitting one's mistake, compassion, patience, and others that could be benefited in the education of Muslims as members of the society and state.
