In accordance with the requirements of the Federal State Educational Standard of Secondary General Education, the formation of meta-subject competencies and universal educational actions among students is an important component of the educational process at school. The project and research activities of high school students in secondary school are organized within the framework of the subject «individual project». The article discusses the features of introducing the subject «individual project» into the curriculum of a technical lyceum, using its capabilities to form the readiness of graduates for engineering education. The article compares the features and results of the final individual projects in the «closed project space» and in the «open project space».
