This article shows the application of Finite Element Analysis FEA using Siemens NX 12 Nastran for thermal and structural simulations of a CNC turning center CTX Alpha500 Gildemeister. The simulations were performed under steady state conditions, stationary system, the heat generated by the workpiece and the machine is neglected and the control volume remains constant.
