The article describes the practical application of the project method for the formation of professional competences of future specialists in the hotel and restaurant business. The purpose of implementing the project method in teaching such disciplines as «Public Construction» and «Design» was to develop competencies such as reflexive and research skills, teamwork, managerial skills and abilities, communicative and presentation skills. Implementation of the method was implemented as a complex task. The work on theprojects was divided into 7 stages. The results of the implementation of the project method were presented and protected in the form of a competition.
