The current state of the economy of Ukraine and the world has necessitated the thorough provision of food security, which should be based on the principles of stability and sufficiency. Given the significant socio-economic and political risks that Ukraine may face given the geopolitical circumstances, it is important to identify the principles of food security and its components as a priority in the implementation of public policy. The purpose of this article is to study the state regulation of food security of the population of Ukraine in the regional dimension. The main directions of food security of Ukraine are identified, which are: promoting the development of farming; promoting the export activities of agri-food enterprises; providing financial support to agri-food producers; improvement of land relations; improving food safety and quality; development of innovations in agricultural production. The directions of improvement of state regulation of food supply processes of the region's population are offered, which consist in creation of conditions for interregional cooperation, establishment of stable regional food production and sales chains, use of agro-industrial potential of the region, increase of purchasing power. , creation of regional procurement and supply cooperatives, financing the construction of irrigation facilities, increasing the level of intra-regional cooperation, coordinated activities of regional structures, cooperation with regional research institutions, rational use of land resources, rapid implementation of innovations, rural development territories, creation of a sufficient number of jobs, creation of new and modernization of existing agro industrial enterprises, improving measures for the import of agricultural raw materials and food exports, increasing the level of food import substitution.
