Penelitian ini menganalisis predikat kompleks bahasa Batak Toba dengan menggunakan teori X-bar. Data diperoleh dari hasil wawancara dengan penutur asli bahasa Batak Toba. Selanjutnya data dianalisis dengan metode agih. Dari hasil penelitian ditemukan beberapa kaidah, yakni FI = Spes + V + V + Prep, FI = Spes + Prep + V + V, FI = Spes + V + V + N.. Kaidah pertama terbentuk dari verba verba yang diikuti oleh preposisi, kaidah kedua tebentuk dari spesifier + preposisi + dan diikuti oleh predikat kompleks, serta kaidah ketiga terbentuk dari spesifier yang diikuti oleh predikat kompleks dan diakhiri dengan nomina.
This study analyzes the complex predicate of the Toba Batak language using the X-bar theory. Data obtained from interviews with native speakers of the Toba Batak language. Furthermore, the data were analyzed by using the agih method. From the results of the research, several rules were found, namely FI = Spes + V + V + Prep, FI = Spes + Prep + V + V, FI = Spes + V + V + N .. The first rule is formed from a verb followed by a preposition, The second rule is formed from a specifier + preposition + and is followed by a complex predicate, and the third rule is formed from a specifier followed by a complex predicate and ending with a noun.
