Aim: Diagnostic efficiency of liquid based cytology compared with conventional pap Methods: The present analytical study entitled was conducted in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Nalanda Medical College and Hospital, Patna, Bihar, India over the period of 1 year. The study includes total 100 subjects. Results: Mean age of the study population was 39.12 years. Majority belongs to 30-40 years of age group. Vaginal discharge was the major problem reported by the study subjects. There were statistically significant differences of satisfactory/unsatisfactory rate and Diagnostic efficacy i.e. sensitivity and specificity of LBC is greater than CPS for evaluation of cervical cytology. Conclusions: the present study concluded that LBC may improve the sample's quality, reduce the number of unsatisfactory smear and increases the diagnostic efficacy in comparison to CPS.
