Background: In this study we took care of convenience for the patient and hospital staff while limiting hospital burden at the same time and compare its toxicities and disease response with concurrent Carboplatin with 5FU based CRT. Methods: This prospective randomized study was conducted in the Department of Radiotherapy & Oncology, Regional Cancer Centre , IGMC, Shimla. It included all the previously untreated adult patients of squamous cell carcinoma of Head and Neck with histologically confirmed diagnosis and no evidence of distant metastasis. Results: Treatment was interrupted in 16.2% of patients in the Carboplatin with Capecitabine arm and 8.1% patients in the Carboplatin with 5FU arm. Conclusion: Higher toxicities were seen in carboplatin with Capecitabine arm as compared Carboplatin with 5FU arm though not statistically significant. This again require further validation on large sample size. Keywords: Carboplatin, Capecitabine, 5FU, Cancer.
